The public consultation on improving cross-border access to electronic evidence in criminal matters was open to feedback from any interested party for a 12 week period, from 4 August 2017 to 27 October 2017. It included a link to the Commission website on cross border access to e-evidence, which provided further information.

The consultation on the Inception Impact Assessment was launched at the same time as the open public consultation. Any interested party could provide feedback on the Inception Impact Assessment from 4 August 2017 to 31 August 2017.

In April 2018 EC published the summary report.
